A vehicle needs regular maintenance to keep its engine running smoothly. One of the simplest things you can do is to change your engine oil regularly. Motor oil breaks down and impurities accumulate over time. Neglecting to change your oil can result in costly damage to the engine.

Some people may prefer to change their oil themselves to save money or ensure the job is done right. Knowing that you will need to change your oil regularly, you can stock up on oil when there is a sale or rebate.

Chevron Havoline comes in a variety of blends, from conventional motor oil to fully synthetic.

Havoline Conventional

Chevron Havoline conventional motor oil is available in 10W-30, 10W-40, 20W-50, SAE 30 and 40.

Chevron conventional oil is a premium oil with Deposit Shield Technology designed to protect against deposits, sludge, and contamination in older engines. It is recommended for both new and high-mileage cars, and cars with naturally aspirated engines and turbochargers.

You can find the full specifications for Chevron Havoline here.

Havoline Synthetic Blend

Chevron Havoline synthetic blend is available in 5W-20 and 5W-30.

This Chevron synthetic blend motor oil with Deposit Shield Technology provides enhanced protection over conventional oils. It contains advanced additives for better wear protection.

Synthetic blend oil is formulated with a combination of synthetic and conventional oil for better flow at low temperatures and extra protection during cold starts. It maintains the oil’s original viscosity longer and resists thermal breakdown better.

Havoline PRO-DS

Chevron Havoline PRO-DS is a fully synthetic motor oil available in 0W-16, 0W-20, 5W-20, 10W-30, 5W-40, Euro 5W-40, Euro 0W-30, and 0W-40.

Closing $ense

According to the most recent data from the US Department of Transportation, drivers traveled an average of 14,489 miles in 2022.

While most manufacturers state newer vehicles using synthetic oil can safely go 10,000 miles between oil changes, many mechanics still recommend that you change your oil more frequently to extend the life of your engine. Many people now do 5,000-mile oil change intervals due to advances in modern conventional motor oils.

If your yearly miles driven are similar to other drivers on the road, expect to do at least one to three oil changes each year.

With the cost of everything going up these days, you may be able to save money by changing your oil at home. All you need is motor oil that you had stocked up while on sale, a new oil filter, tools, and some free time on the weekend.

Need more motor oil? See whether there are any rebates available for Chevron Delo, Chevron Supreme, and Shell Rotella.
